Addition to group means patients can get previously unavailable care close to home
Dr. Michael Nosler, a specialist who diagnoses and treats complex gastrointestinal disorders using advanced endoscopic therapy and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), has joined Colorado Health Medical Group.
Therapeutic endoscopy uses a flexible endoscope with different attachments to go inside a person’s body in order to diagnose and treat disease. EUS is when an ultrasound tool is attached to the end of the endoscope allowing the doctor to not only take a look inside but also transmit special images to a monitor for further study.
Dr. Nosler has been a practicing gastroenterologist in the Fort Collins area since 2007. In 2011 opportunity he completed a special fellowship in therapeutic endoscopy and EUS at the University of Florida. During this fellowship, he learned advanced endoscopic techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of various gastrointestinal disorders. This new set of skills provides state-of-the-art care for patients in northern Colorado suffering from esophageal cancer, pancreatic cancer, pancreas and bile duct disorders as well as other cancers.
In the past, a patient would have had to drive to Denver for this type of care. “Dr. Nosler brings a level of expertise to our region that we haven’t had,” said Russ Branzell, CEO of Colorado Health Medical Group. “His experience and knowledge along with his location across the street from PVH make it easier for patients to receive the care they need close to home,”
As a Colorado native, Dr. Nosler is happy to return to the area and care for a community close to his heart.
Dr. Nosler received his medical degree from Creighton University. Prior to his fellowship in therapeutic endoscopy, he completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Utah and a Gastrointestinal and Hepatology fellowship at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Colorado Health Medical Group, formerly Poudre Valley Medical Group, is a multi-specialty medical group with about 210 providers delivering quality health care, wellness services and health products within 24 medical specialties in communities throughout Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska.
