University of Colorado Health’s Greeley Emergency and Surgery Center, located east of the King Soopers Marketplace at 71st Avenue and 10th Street, was thoughtfully designed to reduce wait times while increasing convenience, comfort and choice in health care in Weld County.
With an estimated cost of $14.5 million, the 22,000-square-foot facility is divided into three main areas.
The emergency care center includes 10 spacious and private exam rooms, two kid-friendly exam rooms, a resuscitation room, a laboratory and a covered ambulance bay. Staffed by board-certified emergency room physicians from Emergency Physicians of the Rockies, the center can handle just about any medical emergency except severe trauma.
The same-day surgery center, located on the west side of the building, includes three preparatory areas, two operating rooms, recovery areas and an observation room. A variety of same-day surgical procedures will be performed at the center, including the areas of endoscopy, orthopedics, gastroenterology and select general surgery.
The diagnostic imaging and full laboratory area, located on the south side of the building, includes X-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI. These services will be staffed and open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so patients can get lab tests or imaging services completed at a time that works with their schedule, even weekends.
The center is now the work home of 75 full-time employees. This translates into about 96 full- and part-time doctors, nurses and support employees with a total annual salary of $4.6 million.
