Community Update will feature the latest information about diabetes
Medical experts from throughout northern Colorado will be delivering the most recent research and information about diabetes management at the annual Fall Diabetes Community Update on Nov. 9.
The 2013 program will be held from 8 a.m.-noon at the Fort Collins Senior Center, 1200 Raintree Drive, Fort Collins. Doors will open at 7:30 a.m. It is sponsored by the Center for Diabetes at University of Colorado Health, formerly Poudre Valley Health System.
Three sessions will allow participants to explore various aspects of diabetes.
What’s New in Diabetes Medications? by Dr. Michael McDermott, professor of medicine and clinical pharmacy, University of Colorado School of Medicine.
The Skinny on Carbs by Jennifer Vissers, clinical diabetes educator, UCHealth Center for Diabetes.
An expert panel will feature Dr. Patrick Green, cardiologist, University of Colorado Health; Dr. David Abbey, internal medicine physician, Internal Medicine Clinic of Fort Collins, Dr. David C. Johnson, periodontist, Associates in Periodontics.
The event costs $15, and each person with diabetes may bring a support person for free. Registration is preferred and begins Oct. 7. To register, call 970.495.8205.
