Founded by Dr. Ann Yanagi in October 2008, the Health and Wellness Orchestra was initially envisioned to give playing opportunities to employees of  Poudre Valley Health System.

These members include medical doctors, registered nurses, a pharmacist, a unit assistant and a transcriptionist, as well as hospital staff who work in various departments including medical records and housekeeping.

The orchestra now includes several private music instructors, school music teachers, students and professors from CSU and FRCC, representatives from the computer industry, and a member of the Ft. Collins Police Department.
