You don't have to be sick or injured to get a look inside the new Greeley Emergency and Surgery Center. You can get a sneak preview of the facility before it opens.
The community is invited to attend a Community Open House event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 at the new Greeley Emergency and Surgery Center at 6906 10th St., which is east of the King Soopers Marketplace at 71st Avenue and 10th Street.
The open house will give Weld County residents a chance to tour the facility, meet the staff, learn about the services that will be offered in addition to emergency care.
Attendees also will be invited to check out the features of the new Colorado Health Medical Group app and register to win a free iPad.
At the same time as the open house, the center will be hosting its inaugural Teddy Bear Hospital event for children and their favorite stuffed critters. The emergency center staff will diagnose and treat stuffed animals and dolls and offer other activities for children to learn about health and safety. Several community partners, such as the Greeley Police, Weld County D.A.R.E. and the Greeley Fire Department, will be offering other hands-on experiences for the children as well. The event is a great way for children to see and experience an emergency room atmosphere without the fear factor of being in an actual emergency.
The center is scheduled to open Nov. 26.
