Nursing Care for Mom and Baby at PVH and MCR
About two hours after giving birth, you and your baby will move to your private postpartum room. The same nurse will take care of you and your baby.
You'll receive a lot of education about how to care for yourself and your baby during your postpartum stay. We also encourage you to review our book for expectant parents, Becoming a Family, prior to your baby's birth. Your healthcare provider will give you a copy.

Visiting the hospital
Your baby's father and brothers/sisters may visit anytime. Children must have adult supervision other than mom.
Although we don't have official visiting hours at PVH and MCR, we recommend encouraging your visitors to come between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. or 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. We turn our lights down for Family Quiet Time from 1:30-3:30 p.m. each day. If there is a time when you would rather not have visitors, please let your nurse know.
For the health of our moms and babies, anyone who has symptoms of an illness, such as runny nose, cough or fever, should not visit the hospital. We appreciate your help in keeping our moms and babies healthy.
