At the Bariatric Center of the Rockies, we have been performing adolescent (ages 14 to 20) weight-loss surgery since 1995. The average patient information/outcomes for those surgeries are:

• Pre-surgery body mass index: 48 percent
• Post-surgery body mass index: 33 percent
• Average excess weight loss: 68 percent
• Mortalities: 0
• Major complications: 0

Additionally, obesity-related health conditions, including type II diabetes, sleep apnea, pulmonary embolism and congestive heart failure, have been resolved in the vast majority of our patients.
