The bariatric patient navigator helps guide patients through the weight-loss surgery process.

Our bariatric patient navigator answers questions that patients might have before, during and after their procedure, including:

• Determining if the criteria to qualify  for weight-loss surgery is met
• Providing information on the insurance plans we accept and their requirements for qualification
• Assisting with documentation of the often necessary (for insurance purposes) six-month medically supervised diet
• Supplying patients and their families with educational materials and literature so the most informed decision possible can be made.

If you meet the criteria for surgery, we will:

• Call your insurance provider for benefit information.
• Schedule you for an informational seminar.

Seminars are held twice a week on Thursdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. All bariatric patients are required to attend a seminar prior to scheduling an appointment with a surgeon.
