Poudre Valley Health System: 2008 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award recipient
Poudre Valley Health System received the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 2008.The award, given by the president of the United States, is the nation's highest honor for innovation and performance excellence.
PVHS was one of three organizations to receive the 2008 award and the only healthcare recipient, making it one of the best hospitals in America. At the award presentation ceremony, Vice President Joe Biden said PVHS had "revolutionized health care."
Congress created the Baldrige program in 1987 to promote quality awareness, to recognize quality and business achievements of U.S. organizations, and to publicize these organizations' successful performance strategies.
Awards are given in manufacturing, service, small business, education, health care and nonprofits.
Organizations in consideration for the award undergo a rigorous review of their leadership; strategic planning; customer and staff focus; knowledge and process management; and clinical, regulatory and financial results.
